Languages of Small-Numbered Peoples Living in Azerbaijan and Preservation of Their Languages

Elmira Aziz kyzy Hanalieva

Abstract

This article explores the multifaceted relationship between minorities and their linguistic environment in Azerbaijan, where multicultural values have become a way of life. Representatives of every nation living in Azerbaijan - national minorities and ethnic groups - live in conditions of mutual understanding and respect. This article examines the complex dynamics of minority languages and their preservation. With globalisation and modernisation posing severe threats to linguistic diversity, understanding and protecting minority languages is crucial. This study examines ways to protect these languages, including legal frameworks, educational policies and community initiatives. The study emphasises the effectiveness of various conservation strategies and discusses their implementation goals. The results show that the measures taken to revitalise and preserve minority languages in Azerbaijan are successful, and continuous efforts are made to prevent threats to the language.
