The article is devoted to studying emotive vocabulary in the English-language novel 'Valour of Giants' by Chingiz Abdullaev, focusing on confronting two key emotional concepts: 'moment of truth' and "hatred". The study examines how these emotive meanings shape the characters' images, in particular the protagonist Drongo, and how they influence the development of the plot. Using textual and comparative analysis methods, the author identifies the peculiarities of conveying emotions in the original text and its English translation and discusses the cultural aspects that influence the perception of emotive vocabulary. The study results emphasise the importance of emotive vocabulary for creating emotional tension and depth of images in literature.
