The article is devoted to the study of emotive vocabulary in Chingiz Abdullaev's English-language novel 'Valour of Giants with a focus on the concept of 'The Code of Honour'. The paper examines how emotive words such as 'valour', 'honour' and 'glory' influence the formation of the image of the main character Drongo, as well as the general perception of the text. The authors analyze emotive semantics using lexicographic and contextual analysis methods, which allows them to identify the key emotional meanings and their reflections on the characters' dialogues. The study also includes a comparative analysis of the original text and its English translation to identify translation difficulties and potential loss of emotive load. The results highlight the importance of emotive vocabulary in modelling the author's worldview and creating a deep emotional connection with the reader. The paper contributes to the study of the relationship between language and literature and the understanding of the role of emotions in fiction discourse.
